On Friday, November 8, 2024, Friends of Youth welcomed EY volunteers including Friends of Youth board members Chris Sharp, CPA and Jeffrey Merrifield. Volunteers provided mentoring to Friends of Youth clients who are seeking employment, organized donations and prepared tags for Giving Trees and learned more about how Friends of Youth supports youth and young adults.
Darcy Kooker, Managing Director, Indirect Tax, reflected on her volunteer experience while filling out tags for Friends of Youth Giving Trees. “It is so eye opening to learn about the needs of other people. Things we take for granted, like driving to work, can make it really hard for young people to get a job if they have to rely on public transit. It makes me feel so good to provide mentoring.”
Summer Xia, Senior – Assurance, also helped fill out gift tags and said as an international student, “I went through so many interviews and I got help from my college for that. I remember how hard it was to get my first job.
