Friends of Youth Community,
Thank you to those who attended our second Celebration of Youth event that honored youth who have been impacted by the foster care system. What an inspiring night led by the thoughtful words from our panel of community experts, Precious Jamerson, Degale Cooper, and Jim Theofelis. We thank them for their words, their candor, and for sharing their experiences with us.
It is so important now, more than ever, to ensure we at Friends of Youth and in the community are centering youth first and lived experience to honor those in the system to make valuable and lasting change for young people.
With our community’s support, we have raised $471,011 of our $500,000 goal! Thank you to all who have already given! There is still time to help us reach our goal by making a gift at friendsofyouth.org/donate. We are so close to reaching our goal, but we need your help! (And remember all gifts made in April will be matched by our generous Challenge Donors).
We hope you enjoyed spending time in community with each other last night, and we invite you to attend our final Celebration of Youth event next Thursday, April 25th for our panel discussion centered on homeless youth services in King County.
