Host Homes Program

Host Home

Friends of Youth is seeking individuals and families who want to help end youth homelessness through the Host Homes King County program.

Host Homes supports youth and young adults who are at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. Host Families have various backgrounds and experiences. Host Families are single, married or partnered, and represent a wide range of race and ethnicities, cultures, religions, gender, and sexual orientations. Host Families may be community members with a spare bedroom and willingness to help, or may be a family member or supportive adult that a young person identifies through the Kinship Model. Host Families share their passion, commitment, and dedication in making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Host Families must be 21 years of age or older, have a spare bedroom or private space within their home, pass a background and reference check, have homeowner or renters insurance, and live within King County. Host Families are also asked to complete a home inspection and training program.

For more information contact Host Homes Case Manager Ashley Newman at or fill out the Host Homes volunteer application.
