Position Title

    Wraparound Youth Partner

Description

    The Youth Partner is an equitable member of the WISe team whose role is to partner
    with the youth to help support their engagement and active participation in making
    informed decisions to drive the WISe process. The Youth Partner is a mediator,
    facilitator and cultural broker between youth and agencies. For more information

Responsibilities

    1. Engage youth and families in the wraparound process
    2. Act as a bridge between the family and system representatives on the team
    3. Ensure that youth voice is heard
    4. Assist in the development of the individualized, wraparound care plan
    5. Attend the Community Resource Team meetings as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

    A. Education and Experience
        1. High School Diploma or GED required. Post-secondary education desired.
        2. Lived experience with overcoming obstacles and an ability to relate to youth.
        3. Ability to advocate for mental health and/or substance abuse treatment.
        4. Act as a role model to inspire hope and share life lessons.
        5. Empower youth to be active participants in their process and plans.
        6. Certified as a Peer Counselor or able to become certified and have training in
        WISe

    B. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
        1. Demonstrate leadership experience and diplomacy in resolving conflicts and
        integrating divergent perspectives.
        2. Committed to ensuring that youth have voice and choice in their own care and
        are active participating in the WISe process.
        3. Ability to work in community settings.
        4. Has knowledge of or is able to develop community resources and supports.
        5. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
        6. Ability to read, write and speak in English.
        7. Knowledge of relevant WAC and COA standards and participation in the
        Performance Quality Improvement process.
        8. Able to engage with diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner.
        9. Demonstrate a commitment to the values of equity and inclusion by honoring
        and celebrating diverse characteristics and expressions of personal identity.

Salary

   $22 / hour
