Position Title

    Wraparound Family / Parent Partner


    The Family/Parent Partner role is to serve the family and help them engage and
    actively participate on the team and make informed decisions that drive the WISe
    process. The Family/Parent Partner services as a mediator, facilitator, or bridge
    between families and agencies. Partner ensures each family is heard and their
    individual needs are being addressed and met. For more information about

    1. Engage youth and families in the wraparound process
    2. Act as a bridge between the family and system representatives on the team
    3. Ensure that family voice is heard
    4. Assist in the development of the individualized, wraparound care plan
    5. Attend the Community Resource Team meetings as needed
    6. Communicate and educate agency and program staff on the importance of family
    voice and choice and other key specifics of family driven care.

Required Skills and Qualifications

    A. Education and Experience
        1. High School Diploma or GED required. Associates or other college degree
        2. Certified as a Peer Counselor or the ability to become certified and have training
        in WISe.
        3. Lived experience parenting a child or youth with emotional, behavioral
        (including mental health and/or substance use challenges), and experience with
        the children’s mental health system.
        4. Experience and desire to provide advocacy and support.
        5. Comfortable with Outlook, Word, Excel and Electronic Health or Medical
        Records desired.
        6. Employees and volunteers who operate their own or Friends of Youth vehicles
        on Friends of Youth business must have a safe driving record as defined by
        Friends of Youth. Employees and volunteers who operate their own vehicle(s) on
        Friends of Youth business must carry auto liability insurances that complies with
        the requirements of Friends of Youth.

    B. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
        1. Knowledge of treatment approaches for individual and family counseling, crisis
        intervention and brief therapy.
        2. Knowledge of group process.
        3. Ability to develop and monitor goal-directed treatment relationships.
        4. Ability to work in a community setting.
        5. Ability to develop and identify community resources.
        6. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
        7. Ability to read, write and speak in English.
        8. Knowledge of relevant WAC and COA standards and participation in the
        Performance Quality Improvement process.
        9. Able to engage with diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner.
        10. Demonstrate a commitment to the values of equity and inclusion by honoring
        and celebrating diverse characteristics and expressions of personal identity.


    Full Time


   $22 / hour
