Position Title

    Database Projects Specialist


    The Database Projects Specialist has responsibility for advancing the agency’s use
    of program data and increasing the efficiency of our various client tracking databases
    by planning and implementing various project based upgrades to our client tracking
    systems and data usage practices. The upgrades will enable the agency to better
    meet funder data requirements, increase program related metric tracking, and
    increase the efficiency of our data gathering and data usage processes for the
    internal users of our client tracking systems. Through the implementation of various
    enhancement projects, the Database Projects Specialist will help the agency
    optimize its usage of Youthforce (a customized Salesforce client management
    database system), Credible electronic medical record system and other funder
    designated client tracking systems. The Database Projects Specialist reports to the
    Data Manager and will perform additional duties as assigned.


    A. Program Data Management and Implementation
        1. Provide support and develop/implement enhancement projects for Youthforce
        (customized Salesforce client management database) and Credible electronic    
        medical record system.
        2. Ensures that all client and outcome data is properly collected and available to
        funders, staff and the board on a timely basis.
        3. Coordinate data policies and procedures between program sites and
        administration office.

    B. Program Administration
        1. Coordinate preparation for COA and any accreditation activities.
        2. Regularly provide data or implement changes to client data tracking systems
        to support the agency’s work to meet program service and delivery requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

    A. Education and Experience
        1. Training and experience in data oversight and reporting.
        2. Demonstrated success in planning and implementing (designing,
        developing, testing and launching) enhancements to client tracking database
        systems and processes.
        3. Familiarity with Saleforce, database administration and/or electronic medical
        record software.
        4. Familiar with Tableau-like reporting software preferred.
        5. Experience in quality improvement, performance measurement and/or program
        6. Bachelor’s degree.
        7. Work in a non-profit environment, preferably with government funders.

    B. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

        7. Strong communication skills.
            a. Ability to both document detailed technical requirements while being able to
            explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
            b. Ability to train non-technical end users on enhancements, process changes,
            and effective data processes.
        8. Employees and volunteers who operate their own or Friends of Youth vehicles
        on Friends of Youth business must have a safe driving record as defined by
        Friends of Youth.
        9. Previous participation in a Performance and Quality Improvement process
