The Eastside Reengagement Center (ERC) is a partnership between Friends of Youth, Lake Washington Institute of Technology and Seattle Education Access. The goal of the ERC is to help young adults in East King County gain access to the education and employment services they need in order to succeed in college or vocational training and ultimately a career. The ERC provides a supportive environment and allows students to address their barriers to academic and vocational success while working towards earning their GED and increasing their basic skills. The ERC provides instructional services including but not limited to:
- Academic and high school equivalency preparation
- Individualized instruction based on students' needs and interests.
- Financial assistance with testing costs, transportation.
- Career counseling and higher education exploration.
- College navigation and FAFSA assistance.
Friends of Youth offers free GED prep classes for youth between the ages of 16-21 who are not currently enrolled in school. Students receive assessment, individualized instruction and assistance in preparation for passing the GED exam.
The Youth Education Program provides one-on-one education services to youth ages 16-21 who have not completed high school or who are interested in post-secondary education.
